Family: 

Olen is a descendant of the Si family.  While he never married, he did adopt the Zabrak infant he found after the Battle of Narmle and raised him as his son, Trilan.

History:

During the Seven Moon War, Jedi Master Olen Si (then a Jedi Knight) fought along with the other Jedi in an attempt to hold the government together. During a fierce attack by the Isolationist Movement Army against Rori, the moon of Naboo, Olen, a tall blue skinned Twi'lek male, and his fellow Jedi successfully defended the planet against Isolationist occupation but at a great expense. The city of Narmle was leveled with the citizens of the city left dead, wounded, or at the very least homeless.

After the fighting Olen Si was walking among the rubble and felt a faint presence in the force. Honing his senses he went in the direction of this force call and found the hand of a humanoid sticking out from the rubble. Along with some of the survivors he began digging and found a battered and bruised Zabrak boy who was no more than ten years of age. The boy was caucasion in skin color and bore a traditional Zabrak tattoe on his face, in the color green, and prominent horns atop his head. The boy was in critical condition and they immediately took him aboard one of the medical frigates.

After countless surgeries and days of unconsciousness the boy opened his eye lids revealing bright green eyes, the same color as his tattoe. Olen stayed by the boy's side for all those days and the Jedi Knight was the first thing the boy saw upon awakening. Although the boy was physically healed, he had suffered a severe head injury that wiped his memory clean of what had lead to him being on Rori or any aspect of his life before that day.

Rather than see the boy sent off to one of the orphan settlements that were becoming all too overpopulated due to the many casualties of the war, Olen decided to take the boy on as his adopted son as the Jedi was neither married or had children of his own.

Olen took the boy, who took on the name Trilan Si, with him wherever he went, even on his missions. All the while teaching him the ways of the force, of diplomacy, and politics. Once Trilan had gained enough skills, Olen took him on as his padawan learner and side by side the two fought in the remainder of the war together.

At the end of the war Olen was promoted to Jedi Master and given a seat on the council while Trilan, now 18, was knighted.
